Now I Teach It.
Coach. Developer. Faith-driven. The story behind 8th Day Baseball is one of honesty, hard-won perspective, and a mission to give athletes what I wish someone had told me.

I Didn’t Live It.
But I Watched Everyone Who Did.
I’ll be straight with you. I said I wanted to play this game at the highest level. I heard what it took. But I didn’t get the chance to live it, because I cared more about other things. Friends, parties, lifting, girls. You name it. I chose them over the extra work.
But I was in the room. I trained alongside guys who put everything aside for this game. I watched what real sacrifice looks like up close. And when the dust settled, I understood exactly what separated them from everyone else.
That perspective, honest and hard-earned, is what I bring to every athlete I work with. I don’t sugarcoat it. I tell you what I saw.

How I Coach
Built Around You,
Not a Mold.
I’ve studied how the best sports performance programs in the country build athletes, not just baseball guys, but strength and conditioning coaches who develop Olympians and pros across sports. The best of them don’t run every athlete through the same program. They study the athlete first.
I do the same thing. Some kids I coach are quiet and internal, they need calm and precision, not noise. Some kids feed off a group, they train best shoulder to shoulder with a training partner pushing them. And some kids need me to get after them a little, to challenge them hard before they’ll give me everything they’ve got. I’ve learned to spot the difference fast, and I coach each one differently, because a cookie-cutter plan is a wasted rep.
That’s true for mechanics. It’s true for the mental game. It’s true for building character. You don’t get molded into somebody else’s mold here. You get coached as who you are, and pushed toward who you’re becoming.
The Mission Behind
8th Day Baseball
It’s my job to develop better baseball players. But it’s my duty to develop leading members of society. I want it said that we produced great baseball players, but even greater men.
What You Can Expect From Me
I will not ask you to do something I wouldn’t do myself.
I will be the first one in and the last one out.
I do not look for the validation of others. I constantly validate myself.
I am afraid of disappointing myself. No one else.
What I Expect From You
Character
Be an upstanding member of our society. You represent a brand, not just yourself. There’s a reason your name is on the back.
School First
You are a student-athlete. School comes first. If you need time to meet with a teacher, let me know. No exceptions.
Compete Daily
Compete every day. Make the routine play. Constantly good is better than inconsistently great. Play the game one pitch at a time.
Give Everything
If you have 50%, I want 100% of the 50%. If you have 100%, give the team your 100%. Be impeccable with your word.
Why the 8th Day
Every Day Is a New Beginning.
In scripture, creation ended on the seventh day. But the eighth day marks something different. It’s the day after the sabbath, the day of resurrection, the first day of a new creation. It represents a fresh start available every single morning.
That’s why we train. That’s why we compete. Whatever happened yesterday, whatever you did or didn’t do, the eighth day is yours. You don’t have to carry the weight of last at-bat, last season, or last year. Show up today and get to work.
