This Week at 8th Day: Guarded, Grounded, and Grateful
Every day this week we paired a Psalm with a piece of the game on Instagram and X. Here is the week in one place, in case a day got past you. It walked a clean arc through Psalm 39 to 42: guard your ways, set your feet, compete clean, then rest.
- Thursday, Psalm 39:1. “I will guard my ways, that I may not sin with my tongue.” Composure is trained the same way the swing is, in reps nobody claps for. Your ways are guarded before the pressure shows up, not during it.
- Friday, Psalm 40:2. “He set my feet upon a rock, making my steps secure.” Steady feet start with a steady mind. When your base is anchored, the game slows down and the picture gets clearer.
- Saturday, Psalm 41:12. “But you have upheld me because of my integrity.” Game day exposes what you built in the dark. Heads up, mind clear, eyes forward, and compete free.
- Sunday, Psalm 42:1. “As a deer pants for flowing streams, so pants my soul for you, O God.” Sunday is for recovery. Rest the body, refill the soul, start over Monday.
That is the whole 8th Day rhythm. Guard your ways, set your feet, compete clean, then rest and start over. On the 8th Day, you start over. Verses come from the daily reading at adailypsalm.com.
