New Digital Training Guides Now Available: The 8th Day Hitting Guide and Pitching Guide
We finally put our training on paper. Two new downloadable guides are live in the shop: the 8th Day Hitting Guide and the 8th Day Pitching Guide. Here is what they are, why we made them, and how to actually use them.
Why We Made These
We cannot be in the cage with every player. Families travel. Seasons get busy. Some of you follow us from outside the Loomis and Sacramento area and will never make it to a session. But the work still has to get done, and it has to get done right.
A guide will never replace a coach standing next to you. It can do the next best thing: give you a plan, so the reps you take on your own are the same reps we would put you through in person. No guessing. No random drills off the internet. A system.
What Is Inside the Hitting Guide
The hitting guide covers the swing the way we teach it: setup, load, stride, rotation, and finish, with the drills that build each piece. Tee work with a purpose. Front toss with a fixed stride spot. One-hand drills that clean up bat path. And the part most programs skip, the mental side: a reset routine you practice before you ever need it, so one bad swing never becomes three.
What Is Inside the Pitching Guide
The pitching guide is built the same way: delivery mechanics broken into teachable pieces, tempo and balance work, and a pre-pitch routine that holds up under pressure. Pitching is the loneliest job on the field. Nobody can call time and fix your head for you. The guide teaches you to do it yourself: breathe, cue word, commit to the next pitch. Heads up. Mind clear. Eyes forward.
How to Use Them
Do not read the whole guide and try everything at once. Pick one drill. Do it right for a week. Ten quality reps beat fifty sloppy ones every single time. We have trained alongside players who reached the highest level of this game, and the separator was never the volume of their work. It was the intent behind it.
That is the standard behind everything we do. It is my job to develop better baseball players. But it is my duty to develop leading members of society. These guides train the swing and the arm. The habits they build, showing up daily, doing small things with discipline, competing without fear, train the person.
Get Started
Both guides are instant PDF downloads, available now in the shop. If you are local and want the real thing, book a session and we will put the plan in front of you in person. On the 8th Day, you start over. Today is a good day to start.
